Position Purpose
As a Casual Cashier, you’ll be expected to:
- Deliver exceptional service at checkout
- Accurately process transactions using store systems
- Uphold strict financial controls and procedures
- Promote current specials and the Dis-Chem Loyalty Programme
Minimum Requirements
To be considered, applicants must:
- Hold a Matric/Grade 12 certificate
- Have 6+ months’ experience as a cashier
- Possess basic computer literacy (MS Office)
- Communicate fluently in English
- Demonstrate strong numerical skills
- Be flexible for retail working hours
Key Responsibilities
- Process various payment methods with accuracy and integrity
- Handle loyalty programme transactions
- Adhere to cash handling procedures and protocols
- Maintain fast and efficient checkout processes
- Report any suspicious activity or discrepancies
